LA Galaxy’s Beckham could buy into Montreal club
LA Galaxy star David Beckham is almost certain to buy a North American soccer club when his playing career ends.
The England international, who is currently on loan with Italian giants AC Milan, plans to see out his two-year deal with the Galaxy following his stint in Italy and the World Cup later in the year and will step into ownership straight after.
Reports suggest Beckham is keen to buy an expansion franchise and a source has stated that a place like Canadian city Montreal would be ideal.
“Montreal is a cosmopolitan, European-style city. As a result, they have a huge passionate support for football that doesn't necessarily exist in the US," a source said.
Beckham has a clause in his contract with the Galaxy that will allow him to buy a team if he wishes when his playing career ends.
