LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena believes the addition of Steven Gerrard will add plenty of quality to the club's roster.
The Liverpool star officially signed with the reigning MLS Cup winners on Wednesday and will bring with him the experience of winning no less than 10 trophies in England and Europe.
Speaking of the capture of Gerrard, Arena spoke with joy at having the opportunity to manage the former England captain who will join the Galaxy in July when his contract at Anfield expires.
"We're very pleased to acquire a player of Steven's caliber, experience and character," Arena said.
"He is one of the most decorated players in the world and will join our team with a wealth of success playing at the highest level of the sport. Steven will be an excellent example to our young players and we're excited to add him and his leadership to an already talented roster."
Additionally, Galaxy president Chris Klein was thrilled to welcome Gerrard to the club as the club looks to achieve lasting success in Los Angeles under the ownership of Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG).
"The LA Galaxy continue to compete for championships and strive for unparalleled success each year, and signing Steven is another example of Mr. Anschutz' continued commitment to the growth of soccer in Los Angeles and North America," said Klein.
"We were aggressive in our pursuit of Steven and look forward to his contributions to our club both on and off the field."
