LA Galaxy will speak with the English Football Association in the hope they can keep David Beckham for as long as possible prior to this summer's men's Olympic football tournament.
The 37-year old midfielder is likely to be named in Stuart Pearce's final Team Great Britain squad for the 2012 Games but the Galaxy want their star to play as many MLS matches leading up to his national duties.
Team GB has a scheduled warm-up game against Brazil on July 20 before their opening Olympics Group A fixture against Senegal on July 26 and the Galaxy are hoping they can strike a deal with the FA so Beckham can link up with the squad as late as possible so he doesn't miss important North American league games.
