LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena has lauded midfielder David Beckham after his performance in the 2-0 victory over Toronto FC on the weekend.

The Galaxy managed to bounce back from a 6-3 trouncing at the hands of FC Dallas the week before and Arena said Beckham's performance was outstanding.

"David's a real good player, there's no question about it," said Arena.

"He is a person with a lot of pride, besides that outstanding ability that he has. He did everything he could tonight to lead this team. I thought his performance was outstanding."

Beckham said he was delighted to have given what he could to his team and help them to such an important win.

"I was happy with my goal and I was happy with the assist I gave to Landon and Eddie," said Beckham. "But I think it was the overall team performance that was exceptional tonight.
