LA Galaxy coach Arena grateful for Donovan commitment

Playing the full 90 minutes for his national team on Saturday in Washington and taking a red eye flight back to LA straight after the game resulted in Landon Donovan being available for LA Galaxy against Colorado at the Home Depot center in less than 24 hours. LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena was grateful for his star player's commitment.

"The contributions from everyone were great, but Landon Donovan really came in." Arena said "They worked real hard today. It was a scrappy game, but we walked off the field with three points and that was certainly the objective for the day. Landon volunteered; in fact I had no contact with him until he called me today. We talked when he got here and we decided he was going to play 45 minutes or less. He showed great leadership. My hat's off to Landon and the whole group. They really did a great job today."

LA Galaxy are 4 points off a secured play off place with 2 games to go.
