LA Galaxy president of business operations Tom Payne isn't surprised Manchester City are trying to muscle in on Chelsea's partnership with the US's Disney Soccer Showcase.
The renowned tournament was actually created by Payne ten years ago and is now regarded as one of the world's great youth competitions.
Without commenting on City directly, Payne told tribalfootball.com: "They (Disney) reached out and did the deal with Chelsea and it's interesting that they are talking with some other folks.
"I don't stay involved in it as I don't work at Disney anymore but it's an amazing venue down there and it was built to allow the kids the opportunity to play at state of the art facilities that normally are reserved for professionals.
"It's been an amazing success and I'm sure if things don't work out with those teams they will be talking to somebody else.
"It's certainly beneficial for a club to align themselves with Disney Sports and Disney Soccer in particular, not just based solely on the Showcase but all the youth soccer they have all year round."
