LA Galaxy bow out of CCL at hands of Toronto FC

Reigning MLS champions LA Galaxy have bowed out of the CONCACAF Champions League at the hands of domestic rivals Toronto FC.

The Galaxy drew 2-2 in the first leg in Canada last week but were beaten 2-1 at home on Wednesday night to lose 4-3 on aggregate.

Galaxy boss Bruce Arena admitted his side were not at their best but made it clear that they should take nothing away from triumphant Toronto.

"Give Toronto credit for the win tonight. They were obviously very opportunistic, took advantage of the couple of opportunities they had," Arena said.

"We played poorly in both boxes and that was the difference in the game.

"There were chances there for us, we could have scored a number of goals tonight and we didn't get the defending we needed on a couple of plays. We had to do a better job and the end result is we [lost] the game.

"There's no one else to look at except ourselves in our locker room."
