David Beckham could very well continue his career in Major League Soccer according to a senior New York Cosmos source.
The 37-year old midfielder will end his six-year stint with LA Galaxy following the MLS Cup final against Houston Dynamo on December 1 with many reports suggesting he could return to Europe or perhaps even head down under to Australia.
But according to Irish newspaper Sunday World and England's Daily Star, Beckham could become a part owner of the Cosmos who are attempting to gain the 20th MLS license by returning to competitive action in the North American Soccer League next year.
A Cosmos source told the former: "David has confirmed his interest and we expect an announcement before Christmas."
A source close to Beckham, who wanted Galaxy co-ownership prior to them looking to sell, added in the Star: "New York is looking like the deal he'll go for.
"As far as the Galaxy are concerned, without knowing who the eventual new owners are likely to be he felt it was too risky for him to hope they offer him a co-ownership deal there."
