The 32-year-old notched up his 628th Reds game in the meeting with the La Liga side - an achievement his defensive colleague Kyrgiakos admits to being in awe of.
"There are many options at centre-back and each player has his own different qualities," the Greek told LFC Weekly.
"Carra is different to the rest of is because he is local and you can see what the club means to him.
"He has played for so long at the highest level at one of the biggest clubs in the world. As a defender, I can only admire that achievement because although it's difficult getting to the top, I know it's even more difficult staying there."
