Departing Liverpool attacker Dirk Kuyt has thanked former Reds boss Rafa Benitez for a tribute he made to the Dutchman this week.

Benitez scribed an 800-word feature about the player he brought to Anfield in 2006 following news that Kuyt would be signing for Fenerbahce.

Kuyt was quick to respond to the article, using his personal Twitter account to say:
