Kuyt relishing battle for regular berth in Liverpool team
Dirk Kuyt is unconcerned as Liverpool continue to strengthen their squad as he welcomes the competition which can only be good for the Reds.
The Reds have bolstered their attacking options from midfield with the arrivals of Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing for a combined total of around £49million.
"I'm pleased that we have this kind of players in the squad now, I think it's normal for a club like Liverpool that there's competition and the Premier League is a very hard league," he said.
"There are a lot of games to play for and it's impossible to do with 11 people so we need a big strong squad and I think the players who just arrived, they are very welcome for us and I think we needed them."

Anony, have a little faith, Kenny is no fool, he brought all those midfielders for a reason. Kuyt got no advantage technically speaking over those players. He is to stay coz he can fire up a slow gear liverpool. As gor Lucas, im not sure why fans vote him as fans poy. Well it shows how low liverpool hv fallen down the epl pecking order. They say liverpool fans are tje most deluded of them all, I could not agree more, living on their past glory, but I csnt syand manure fans much more. Liverpool need a couple more years to win, if n only if kuyt n lucas leaves. They did a good job sacking benitez. Trust me.
I see light at the end of the tunnel. At least kuyt not gonna b playing week in week out. If he does , with lucas, then we knw where liverpool will end up next season. Mediocority and very little show of smooth football when these guys play. Look at their mentor -Fatfa!
downing's quality, but he's not worth 20mil. henderson for 16+mil... what a joke.
will be funny to see that 49mil, plus 35m for carroll who's only ever had half a good season and 20odd milfor a mediocre striker in suarez... all of whom will be playing for a Liverpool side who will fight it out with the likes of Spurs, Villa and Everton for places 5, 6, 7 and 8 in the EPL.
