Dirk Kuyt has put new contract talks to one side in a bid to bring silverware to Liverpool this season.

The Dutchman said: "The most important thing for me is to win trophies with Liverpool.

"This is my third season in England and we are still to win a trophy. Hopefully that will change this season.

"It is a frustration not to have won something yet with Liverpool, it is always your aim.

"Every season you try hard and it is not right when a club like Liverpool does not win trophies. But, for me, that is the extra motivation to win something this season."
