Dirk Kuyt has rubbished claims of rifts within the Liverpool squad.

Kuyt played down suggestions unhappiness within the squad had contributed some poor results.

"Always during a season during games you have arguments with players but I've never had this feeling towards me or other players," he said.

"We want to push each other and get the best out of ourselves.

"You always want to perform better and do more for the team. The whole team has shown character and that is the one thing you can do for the team.

"Hopefully we can finish fourth and win a trophy."
