The agent of Dirk Kuyt says the Dutchman swapped Liverpool for Fenerbahce in part because of lifestyle.

Kuyt has joined Fener in the last 24 hours in a £1 million deal.

Agent Rob Jansen says finances were not decisive.

"Dirk really wanted to play in Europe and preferably the Champions League," he told De Telegraaf.

"Fenerbahçe is a club where each season they fight for the title. It is a mega-club. If people wonder why he is going to Istanbul, then they've never been there. Istanbul is a metropolis which is more beautiful than Liverpool."
