Schalke manager Felix Magath has revealed that Kevin Kuranyi vetoed a deal to move to the Premiership after the clubs had agreed a fee. The identity of the club has not been revealed but the 27 year old has attracted plenty of interest from clubs in the Barclays Premier League, being linked with Sunderland and Birmingham.
Magath said: "I had already reached an agreement with a club who wanted to buy him, but Kevin said that he did not want to leave.
"Selling him was only an issue because of financial reasons.
"On the sporting side, I am not unhappy that he is staying because we can still do with him."
