Former Arsenal scout Pavel Kucherov isn't surprised Leonid Slutsky is being linked with the Vitesse Arnhem job.
Kucherov admits Slutsky's friendship with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will be a big influence on him landing the job.
He told Sport-Express: "The club has been doing business with Russian investors and Leonid would like to prove himself as a trainer in Europe, and Vitesse is a good next step for him after he has worked in England.
"As is well known, Vitesse has ties with Chelsea, so it's all logical.
"That's the way life is, it's not bad to have a good relationship with a real businessman, we now have at least one Russian coach who tries to make a name for himself in Europe."
