Robbie Kruse is expected to be available for Fortuna Dusseldorf as they get set to face Mainz in the German Bundesliga on Sunday.
The Australian attacker missed last weekend’s 2-1 loss at Schalke because of bronchitis but suggests he could be on the pitch when Mainz come to town.
“On Thursday I should hopefully be back with the team,” Kruse said.
“I want to play on Sunday absolutely.
“It was hard for me to have to watch from a distance. My team has done well, but Schalke was a strong opponent.
“We lost against Mainz at Winter Cup and training camp are the strong, but this time it's our turn.”
Dusseldorf currently sits 13th on the Bundesliga table with Kruse scoring four goals so far this season.
