Kruse lands Player of the Week nod for Leverkusen brace

Robbie Kruse was named the Bundesliga.com Player of the Week for Matchday 6 of the 2013/14 season.

The Australian forward marked his first league start for Bayer Leverkusen with a superb double while supplying Lars Bender for another of the goals as Die Werkself beat Mainz 4-1.

Kruse, who replaced South Korean star Son Heung-min in the Leverkusen line-up, received 39% of the vote to land the week 6 plaudits ahead of Bayern Munich's David Alaba (25%), Borussia Dortmund's Marcel Schmelzer (20%), teammate Stefan Kiessling (8%), Borussia Monchengladbach's Raffael (6%) and Munich's Toni Kroos (2%).
