Tim Krul has again declared he wants to stay and fight for a place at Newcastle United.

The Dutch goalkeeper told the Evening Chronicle: "I have said all along that I want to wait for my chance and then show the manager what I can do.

"It is still very early in the season, but during these friendly games I have the chance to catch the eye.

"We then go over to Spain where there will be more opportunities, and then we'll look at the situation again."
