Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul insists they can handle derby rivals Sunderland this weekend.

Dutchman Krul is brimming with confidence after starting the season with a clean sheet.

Looking ahead to Saturday's high-noon affair, Krul told the Evening Chronicle: "We knew our start was a hard one against Arsenal and Sunderland, but we don't have to fear anybody - we showed that last year.

"I think we will be the same this season.

"We'll go there with a lot of confidence, and I think we can get the three points."
