American billionaire Stan Kroenke is expected to attend his first board meeting as an Arsenal director this week.
The Telegraph says Kroenke, who has built an estimated $2bn fortune on real estate and sports properties including NFL, ice hockey and soccer franchises, has a 12 per cent stake in the club, and Thursday's AGM will mark his first appearance in that role.
Kroenke's invitation to join the board follows the purchase of 50 per cent of Arsenal Broadband and a marketing tie-up with his Colorado RapidsMLS franchise, and has been interpreted as an attempt to align his interests with those of the long-term shareholders.
