Kroenke breaks Arsenal silence: We are willing to spend big in transfer market
Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke insists he has no problem with the club shelling out on new signings.
Kroenke says he was happy with their deadline day spending, despite some criticism, and insists the club is willing to spend big in the transfer market.
"There's a risk of going backwards if you overreact and start throwing money around in an attempt to solve your problems," Kroenke told stltoday.com.
"Unfortunately we saw that with the (St Louis) Rams several years ago. Signing a bunch of free agents wasn't the answer. It set things back, and it took us a while to dig out of it.
"Our track record is out there for people to see. If we think there's good value, we'll spend."
After losing Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona) and Samir Nasri (Manchester City), the Gunners splashed out to sign Mikel Arteta (Everton), Yossi Benayoun (Chelsea), Per Mertesacker (Werder Bremen) and Andre Santos (Fenerbahce).

Oh now they're willing to spend?
Had Arsenal put its money where its mouth is, they could have brought in Cahill, Samba (or Per), and Arteta at the beginning of the transfer window AND Cesc probably would have stayed!!!!
You're a day late and a dollar short Kroenke!
