Kreis: Man City's Lampard arrival will enhance NYCFC even further

New York City FC head coach Jason Kreis believes Frank Lampard's expected July arrival will only be positive for the team.

The veteran English midfielder, who is currently enjoying a successful loan with Manchester City, will link up with the MLS expansion franchise in the middle of the 2015 season.

Kreis is currently preparing his brand new roster for their inaugural campaign in the USA and Canada's top flight and is planning to put together a quality outfit prior to the injection of Chelsea great Lampard.

"For me, I look at it as if we can do our job and be a good team before he comes," Kreis told reporters.

"Imagine that, we get to add Frank Lampard to what's already a good team, and that's our objective."

And even at 36 years of age, Lampard will not be negatively affected by a full season in the Premier League according to Kreis.

"If you look at the situation, he comes in, and he's adding something to [Manchester City]. He's not being asked to play 90 minutes every single week," Kreis added.

"I don't think the drain is there for him physically, but he's still training at an extremely high level. So I think it's a really great situation for us."
