Cheikhou Kouyate is excited about his new beginnings at Crystal Palace.

The Senegal international moved to Selhurst Park from West Ham United last week.

"I am very happy to be here. And I say thank you to the fans for the unbelievable welcome, and I am so excited to have had the chance to play for my new club in this game and I feel very good," Kouyate told club's website after making his debut in Palace's win over Toulouse.

"It was good for our confidence to win this game, but the tactic now is to be ready for the Fulham game because that we are now at just a week before that game.

"I am ready to get started but all the players have made me very welcome, making me feel at home, but it is now about me getting myself ready to play in the team.

"Pape [Souare], James Tomkins and Luka [Milivojevic], everybody has helped me to settle into this team and now I must continue to work hard for this season and hopefully have an unbelievable season for this team.

"We are all looking forward to it beginning and cannot wait."
