Kone eager to finish the season strongly with Everton after injury absence

Everton striker Arouna Kone wants to make up for lost time by finishing the campaign in strong fashion.

Kone has had his time at Everton ravaged due to a serious knee injury and the Ivory Coast internatinoal has missed most of the current campaign due to the problem.

Recently though, the 31-year old has managed to make a strong return back into the fold for the Toffees by playing a key role two consecutive victories in the Premier League and now the Ivorian star has stated that he intends to make up for lost time by helping his side finish the campaign in winning style.

Kone told the Liverpool Echo: "I do feel better in myself and my knee is a lot better. I wouldn't say I'm absolutely 100% yet but every time I play I get better and better each time.

"And that's the aim now, finishing the season as strong as I can, get confident and try to get back to top form before the end of this season and then kick on with a good pre-season. I want to be on top form right from the off next season."
