Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany was full of optimism after beating Manchester United 2-1 tonight.
The reigning Premier League champions made it two from two at Old Trafford, following on from last season's 6-1 thrashing, to produce another win thanks to a late Sergio Aguero winner.
With the gap between United and City still 12 points, Kompany was more looking to towards finishing strongly to have an impact on next season rather than holding hope of clinching the title.
"Every game, we have to play to win," Kompany told Sky Sports 1. "I do believe that the way we finish this season is going to have an impact on next season.
"You're always going to start from the beginning and it's a good game to have under our belt to take into next season."
