Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is pushing manager Manuel Pellegrini to move for Wolfsburg winger Kevin de Bruyne.
The Daily Mail says City have a definite interest in the former Chelsea winger and have already made tentative enquiries to establish whether he would be open to a return to the Barclays Premier League from German club Wolfsburg.
It is understood that Kompany has told Pellegrini and City sporting director Txiki Begiristain that not only is De Bruyne talented enough to play for the club but also has the right attitude and personality.
Pellegrini is not expected to move for De Bruyne in January but the midfielder is on a provisional list of 'possibles' for next summer.
