Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany insists he's not at Etihad for the money.
It's hard to argue with the man expected to retain the captaincy at the Etihad - despite Carlos Tevez's return - given that his girlfriend is a Mancunian.
"When I first came here, I didn't know much about Manchester City," admitted the Belgian defender to the Sunday Mirror.
"It just looked like a good club to be with, but since the new owners came in, it has become incredible. We've been absolutely battered as a club and it's because of the money - it is always about the money.
"But the criticism this club seems to attract, just makes me love City even more. I just like Mancunians and Manchester feels like home."
