Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has hailed their "mental strength" as they chase down a second Premier League title in three seasons.
Wins over West Brom, Crystal Palace and Everton, coupled with Liverpool's defeat at home to Chelsea, have seen City regain control of the title race.
Skipper Kompany said: "I think you need a lot of mental strength to be in a position like ours.
"It gives you a good feeling to be at the top - and at the right time, too.
"When we looked at the match against Everton, we thought 'OK, Everton don't want to play hard because Liverpool, their neighbours are going for the title'.
"But their men gave everything. It was very hard the whole game, especially after the second goal, when it became exciting again.
"So, it was a deserved victory. But it makes the next two games obviously still very, very interesting."
