Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany wants to make amends for the disappointment of last season and has backed the squad to collectively improve for their title challenge.
The Belgian international capped his fine performance with a goal in the 3-1 victory against West Bromwich Albion on Monday and is now looking to kick on as City strive to return to the winners' dais in 2015/16.
He told the club's official website: "I've worked hard and I think that sometimes you get judged on how you finish a season.
"Until November, I was having a good season, but in the end, it didn't matter because we didn't win anything.
"As a team, we all have to improve. I want to get back to my best level and games like today are giving me the confidence - I'm extremely hungry for more silverware and great performances.
"I want to play against the best teams and do well."
City will next play title holders Chelsea on 16 August at the Etihad Stadium.
