Kompany in charge of security for Man City - and Man Utd - players

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is in charge of security for his teammates.

The Daily Mail says Kompany, the Manchester City captain, is being paid by his club to provide the chauffeuring and security of his millionaire team-mates. And he is providing a similar service to fierce rivals Manchester United too.

The defender has a one third share in Elite Limousines VIP Protection Services Ltd, who were awarded the lucrative contract by former chief executive Garry Cook. Kompany's firm also includes United among its clients.

Among the fleet of cars, they boast a Rolls Royce Phantom, a Bentley Flying Spur, a Bentley Arnage, a Chrysler Limousine, a Mercedes S Class, a Hummer H2 and a Lincoln Navigator for use by their clients. They also offer helicopter and executive jet travel.

City insist that the players, some earning more than £200,000-a-week, needed greater protection in their daily lives. The company is also used by United for its bespoke protection service for VIPs travelling to and from matches.
