Vincent Kompany believes Manchester City's recent success is just the start of many years of success. City have spent heavily on new players since the takeover by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan's Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, and have been rewarded with a string of trophies.
He told the Daily Telegraph: "I will say it loud and clear: at Manchester City, it is all about what you choose to look at. If you look at the money spent on players you will only ever see that side of City.
"If you look at the bigger plan, which is investment in the community, facilities and youth teams, you realise there is heart and soul in this club. That is the reason why I am not shy to say this is a great club. The future is bright for Manchester City but this is only the beginning."
He added: "Winning the title for the second time was really rewarding because it was such an intense season right up until the very last game.< To conclude it with a parade through the centre of Manchester, all turned blue by the fans, makes you hungry for more silverware.
"When you are around top players the last thing a manager can afford to do is to play games. It is better to be honest and they both are very honest and dedicated to their jobs."
