Former Germany defender Jurgen Kohler believes Emre Can quit Liverpool for Juventus for money.
The 24-year-old put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Juventus in June having seen the Italian giants win their seventh Serie A title on the bounce.
Can is on around £144,000 a week for the first two seasons of his contract, with his salary set to increase after that.
"Sporting-wise, yes [it was the right move]," Kohler told Sport1. "The new situation is very interesting for him, although he had good games and developed well at Liverpool.
"He'll earn more in Turin than he did with the Reds, which of course was a reason for the change.
"Any players who say otherwise are not telling the truth.
"At the time, I left Bayern Munich because I could earn more money.
"The fact that I was able to experience a picture-book career with Juve and thus achieved a great standing in Germany was unpredictable.
"Defensive players are not like sand in the sea. There are only a few really good ones.
"Emre is the right player for Juve."
