Koevermans on target again as Toronto FC go second in CL group

Danny Koevermans backed up his MLS double by netting the only goal in Toronto FC's 1-0 triumph over Panamanian outfit Tauro on Tuesday.

The Dutch striker headed home in the 40th minute to allow the Canadian club to move second on the CONCACAF Champions League Group C table with their second win in four outings.

The match was the return leg of the opening group fixture which Toronto won 2-1 in Panama City and it has the Reds placed precariously in second, two points clear of Pumas UNAM, and one point in arrears of FC Dallas - with those two clubs meeting on Wednesday night.

Ex-AZ Alkmaar and PSV Eindhoven star Koevermans has now scored six goals in his last nine outings for Toronto, including his match-winning brace against Colorado Rapids in the league on the weekend.
