Koeman left frustrated as Everton lose at Burnley

Everton boss Ronald Koeman was left frustrated with their 2-1 defeat at Burnley.

Defeat for Everton, just their second of the embryonic campaign, was harsh when they asked plenty of questions of Tom Heaton, who made three great stops in the opening 16 minutes and a further two from Bolasie after the break.

"Of course it's very hard to take, going home with no points but okay that happens because that's football," said Toffees boss Koeman.

"Football is not always what you deserve; football is sometimes really unfair.

"I think we started the game well. We had, in the first five or 10 minutes, two good opportunities. But after 20-25 minutes I think we dropped a little bit in intensity. And you know (with) direct play, second balls it's always difficult.

"The reaction of the players was really good in the second half, higher tempo, better football, we scored a good goal and then you need to go and continue.

"We tried and they waited for one moment and they got the moment and that's what happened."
