Everton winger Aaron Lennon, 30, was detained this week under the Mental Health Act by police over concerns for his welfare.

He is not suffering from a long-standing mental health issue and is expected to make a full recovery in the short term.

His manager Ronald Koeman responded to the reports in Thursday's news conference: "It's between club, player & his family. It's best we keep it inside.

"If we feel some have mental problems or other issues we have enough people working in club to help players with these kind of problems."
