Zat Knight has no doubt Bolton Wanderers teammate Gary Cahill can make the England World Cup squad.
Knight, capped twice by England four years ago, insists it is just a matter of time before his team-mate, 23, wins his first cap.
Knight, 29, said: "I try to pick Gary up if he comes back from England duty feeling frustrated. He's unlucky as central defence is England's strongest position.
"It happened for me and it will happen for him too. Gary desperately wants to play for England and he's bound to get his break soon.
"He has got everything you could ask for and, although it's not easy, he just has to be patient.
"Hopefully, we'll see him on the plane for the World Cup next summer."
