Bolton Wanderers defender Zat Knight admits their battling performance at Chelsea was influenced by Sir Alex Ferguson.
Knights admits their display in the 1-0 defeat might have been fuelled by the Manchester United manager's pre-match claim that Chelsea would have an "easy game" against Wanderers.
"A few people thought it was going to be a walk in the park - well Alex Ferguson did, anyway. We had played them twice and lost 4-0 twice," he said.
"But we went to Stamford Bridge, rolled our sleeves up, and took care of ourselves. No one wants to hear things like that said about them.
"Maybe his words affected us, maybe they didn't but we know we want to play in the Premier League and we are going to keep on fighting to make sure that we do."
