Klopp urges Liverpool players to give everything in Champions League return

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists his side are ready to bounce back from their 5-0 defeat to Manchester City.

The Reds will take on Sevilla in their opening Champions League match on Wednesday, and Klopp believes his players will be confident heading into the clash.

"I didn't work hard on this because as human beings we have a lot of rights but we have not the right to be down because of something we were responsible for," said the Reds manager.

"I didn't blame the boys for the second half, I had a big part in this, especially in the second half because I saw the game and I saw us on a good way with a performance which I was not happy with, but I saw that in a few parts we were for sure the better team. We should have been in the lead before they scored the goal, or after the first one or whatever.

"Yes, with 10 men it changed, that's how it is. But, how it is when you have a problem, you can put your finger on it or you can ignore it.

"It was not a problem with the performance, not until a specific point, and after that, how everybody knows, City or Manchester is the worst place to be with one man down on a day like this and we did not really well afterwards, we could've defended better.

"But how I said, until we conceded the third goal I thought it also made sense to try to score actually, [but] after the third one it was again a different game and then the fifth one was in the last minute.

"But tomorrow we have another competition and we worked so long, so hard for it and we actually plan to put all we have into this game. Nothing that happened last Saturday would stop us."
