Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has instructed striker Mario Balotelli to report for training, according to Italian publication Gazzetta World.

The 25-year-old, who spent a disappointing loan spell at AC Milan last season, was widely expected to leave the Merseyside club in the summer.

However, his high wages have proved to be a stumbling block in securing an exit from Anfield, and now he has been asked to report for pre-season training at Melwood on July 2.
