Klopp reflects on Liverpool pre-season: It feels different than 12 months ago

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reflected on a 'different' pre-season campaign for his side this summer.

Liverpool have had a very busy pre-season campaign so far, travelling to Australia, back to England and then to Hong Kong for various friendly encounters.

The Reds have now landed in Germany for clashes against Hertha BSC and Bayern Munich, and manager Jurgen Klopp has gone on to label his side's hectic pre-season schedule as 'different' in comparison to last summer.

Klopp told the Liverpool Echo: "It's not easier this year but it's different. A lot of the things we did last summer we have to do again. When you have some new players and a few players coming back who haven't been involved for a few months then you need to keep doing things again and again.

"It's just a little bit more normal now because we've already had a full season working together. I know more about the boys and they know more about me. Actually, I am happy with the circumstances so far. We really did exactly what we wanted to do in Hong Kong.

"And we did it much more difficult circumstances than what I thought it would be. It was really good and now we'll enjoy the camp in Germany."
