Klopp makes immediate impact on Liverpool legend Aldridge

New Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made an early impression on club legend John Aldridge.

There is a huge sense of optimism surrounding the Liverpool faithful following the appointment of Klopp as manager and the German further charmed the fans with a charismatic first press conference as Reds' boss last week.

Former Liverpool star Aldridge has also been left very impressed by the former Borussia Dortmund and he believes that the 48-year-old will help the Reds become an exciting team once again.

In his column for the Liverpool Echo, Aldridge stated: "I thought Jurgen Klopp's performance in his opening Press conference was 10 out of 10. He's a clever man – he's not soft – I like the way he talked about going to the restaurant with his wife and then posed for photos with the Liverpool people.

"It showed another side to him and there are a few other managers who wouldn't have done that. He knows what he wants and he wants to get his character out there. He's very passionate – that a lot of other managers don't show – but I love to see.

'His first week on Merseyside has been really impressive the way he's fronting it. I'm really pleased that we've got someone in as soon as possible. His credentials seem to be very good and Liverpool fans everywhere are looking forward to a new chapter in the club's history. There's an expectancy for us to get back to playing exciting football."
