Klopp: Liverpool playing for our future...even me!

An unhappy Jurgen Klopp has stated that everyone at Liverpool is currently playing for their long-term futures at the club.

Liverpool's terrible 2017 continued after they slumped to a very disappointing 3-1 defeat against struggling champions Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Monday night.

Manager Klopp was understandably frustrated with how his side performed in the East Midlands and following the game, the German boss has warned everyone - including himself - that they are currently fighting for their Anfield futures.

Klopp told the Liverpool Echo: "The thing is, we are all playing for our future – myself included.

"We get judged every day, especially on matchdays, especially on performances.

"I don't think (the players) are not as good as I think they are, but they need my help to show it every week. I have said it a few times. When we lose, I feel maximum responsibility. I hope that by using always the word 'we' and not 'they' I show that I am involved in this.

"It's not a moment to make assessments like this, especially not in public. But to say the truth as often as possible, I have to. Bad performances don't help anyone."
