Adam Lallana has revealed what Jurgen Klopp said to his Liverpool players prior to the Capital One Cup final in February.
As the Reds prepared to take on Manchester City at Wembley in the League Cup decider, manager Klopp indicated that being involved in finals will now be a prerequisite for the Anfield club.
Ahead of Wednesday night's Europa League decider against Sevilla in Basel, midfielder Lallana spoke of how Klopp expects that meeting with City would be the 'first of many' finals for Liverpool.
“He said, 'This will be the first of many finals we will have together'," Lallana said.
“The way he said it, the words he used, you just believed there would be more finals, whether it was this year or next year or whenever. Three months later, here we are in another final.
“It just shows you his confidence and self-belief and that rubs off on the lads. 'The first of many finals!'
“It just stuck in my mind from the moment he said it. He demands 100 per cent from you. He doesn't do passive."
