Betting has been suspended on Jurgen Klopp being named new manager of Liverpool.
Tribalfootball.com can reveal bookies Ladbrokes have officially suspended betting on the German taking charge of Liverpool following the dismissal of Brendan Rodgers yesterday.
Rodgers' axing took many by surprise given Liverpool's decent 1-1 draw at Everton on Sunday. But we understand FSG, Liverpool's owners, had been preparing to sack Rodgers for over a week with the international break looming. FSG believed international week was the ideal time to make a change and help the new man settle into his surroundings at Melwood before the Premier League resumes in almost a fortnight's time.
Meanwhile, former Borussia Dortmund coach Klopp appears nailed on to succeed Rodgers. The German, we understand, was in England last week for talks with Liverpool representatives. The meeting came just days after Klopp had rejected an approach from the Mexican FA about succeeding Miguel Herrera.
A national team job was considered by Klopp, but he favoured the club game - with his priority being the Premier League.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: "There's a strong vibe Klopp to Liverpool is a done deal so we've had no choice but to suspend betting. The run of cash we've taken in a matter of minutes suggests an announcement is expected sooner rather than later."
UPDATE
#5) Latest from Bosnia, former Borussia Dortmund assistant coach Zeljko Buvac is preparing to pack his bags for Merseyside. Buvac was No2 to Jurgen Klopp during the German's time in charge of BVB.
It's claimed Klopp has already accepted a three-year deal offered by Liverpool. For more, click here.

#4)Liverpool have offered a two-year contract to Jurgen Klopp. Click here for more.
#3)Carlo Ancelotti is understood to be in London today. The Italian is among the contenders for the Liverpool job. Ancelotti has been residing in Canada, so to be in London would suggest he's there on business.
Taking the Liverpool job, however, would be a huge gamble by Ancelotti. In Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea, AC Milan and Juventus, Ancelotti took on readymade title contenders - something Liverpool cannot be described as.
Ancelotti turned down AC Milan in June, despite GM Adriano Galliani spending a week with him in Madrid. It's understood the 'rebuilding project' required at Milan put him off.
#2) Some inside the Liverpool boardroom are lukewarm on the appointment of Jurgen Klopp. Carlo Ancelotti, formerly of Chelsea and Real Madrid, is favoured by many powerbrokers at FSG.
The Italian's proven record, right across Europe, is working in his favour, along with his willingness to work as a 'coach' and leave the hiring and firing to those above him.
However, there is a reluctance from Ancelotti as he's made it clear to intermediaries he'd prefer a year away from the game after his sacking by Real.
#1) It's been revealed Liverpool have rented out a plush home property in Formby, on Merseyside, for a 'guest'. The suggestion is the new manager would take up immediate residence in Formby ahead of organising a more permanent home for his family.
The need to organise the Formby property does indicate the next Liverpool manager will come from outside of England. Some sources suggest Klopp's visit last week included a tour of the Merseyside home.
