Klopp disappointed as Liverpool hold on against Crystal Palace

Liverpool have secured second position on the Premier League table behind Manchester City with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Two goals on either side of half-time sealed an important victory at a ground where a lot of teams will struggle to pick up points this season.

Roy Hodgson's side are organised and compact in their 4-4-2 system, and it took a penalty right on the stroke of half-time for Liverpool to break the deadlock. James Milner converting from the spot after Mohamed Salah was fouled.

Sadio Mane capped off the win in stoppage time with a fine breakaway goal, and speaking after the match, manager Jurgen Klopp wasn't entirely pleased with the performance.

He told Sky Sports: "We can play better football. It was a really intense first half so it wasn't easy to make the right decisions. They had their moments.

"I know we have to play much better but tonight I'm absolutely fine with that."
