Klopp defends Liverpool selection for West Brom draw

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp defended his team changes for their 2-2 draw at West Brom.

Alberto Moreno made his first league start since November, Ragnar Klavan began a game for only the second time since New Year's Day and Joe Gomez was back after a month out through injury.

“It was clear that we could make these changes," said the Reds boss.

“It was clear that Robbo cannot play all the games. Alberto would have played at Everton for sure but he was injured. Ragnar was out for a while, Ingsy came on from time to time.

“We needed to use them because of the physical situation of the players."

Reflecting on the game, Klopp said: “It was two points dropped.

“If you make a set-piece Premier League, where only set-pieces are allowed, then for sure West Brom would not go to the Championship, eh? They are really good in that."
