Klopas defiant as Montreal Impact look to end winless streak

Montreal Impact have begun the 2014 MLS season without a win from their seven outings.

The Canadian club finished with the fifth-best record in the Eastern Conference in 2013 but have failed to notch a victory in the opening seven weeks of the new campaign.

Frank Klopas took the reins from Marco Schallibaum in the offseason to become the third manager in the club's three-year MLS history but he insists that he is not feeling the pressure of a winless beginning.

"No," defiant Klopas told reporters when asked if he was concerned about his future.

"Listen, for me, as long as I'm here, I'm going to do whatever I possibly can. No matter what happens, Montreal will always have a special place in my heart.

"I have a lot of confidence in myself, and I have a lot of confidence in the team. It's a long season. I know what I'm doing. We're working very well. The ball is round. It's going to bounce your way sometimes, sometimes it's not."

To get the Impact back on track, Klopas is well aware that it is his duty to lead the Quebec club out of the mire with improved results as quickly as possible.

"It's my responsibility," Klopas added. "I know that.

"I know that I have to get results. I have a big responsibility to the organization. They've been great to me.

"I came here because I believe in the organization. I love this city; the fans are great. It's not easy. I don't sleep at night at all because this is all I think about, believe me, what we can do better."
