Klinsmann stunned by Man Utd sacking of Moyes

USA manager Jurgen Klinsmann is bemused by Manchester United's sacking of David Moyes.

The 49-year-old believes Moyes needed more time to implement change after Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement and that he wasn't given the support in the transfer window.

The German said: 'It is very difficult to judge from the outside. Every environment has so much going on the inside so you can never really find the right reasons and everything that's going on, but my emotional reaction is a big disappointment.

"David Moyes, I met him throughout many, many years is an excellent and an absolutely outstanding coach. From the outside just looking at it, I think he needed more time.

"Now pulling the plug when everything is basically lost already doesn't really make sense to me because it's a year of rebuilding. They wanted a change and change takes time.

"David Moyes was not given a couple of outstanding big transfers at the beginning of the year to make things happen right away. He had to go with the old squad and slowly modify things."
