USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann is delighted to have Everton goalkeeper coach Chris Woods on his backroom staff.
The former Tottenham striker feels Woods' relationship with 'key player' Tim Howard can help benefit the US - as it has the Blues in recent seasons.
"Chris is taking care of the goalkeepers and is doing an amazing job," he told evertontv. "But also the way he fitted into our coaching staff, it was like he had been there before. He is very open minded and is a good person to work with.
"Tim Howard is one of our key players," Klinsmann added. "He's one of our leaders and he's getting towards the prime of his career. He's proved in the last couple of years in the Premier League that he's an exceptional goalkeeper and I want him to go even higher. He's very important to the US national team.
"Off the pitch he's a leader in the locker room and also whenever the players have some free time. He's a mentor to a lot of the younger players."
